I've just been playing around with HDR. It's kind of fun, you can really make an image change with this style! Sometimes it's too easy to get carried away so you really need to have a light hand.

So My son is home this summer from Ohio state! We were long overdue for a portrait session., he has really changed alot in the last year or so and we don't have any really good shots of him. It was really fun to shoot with him because he actually likes being in front of the camera and he does quite well. We are just so proud of what he has done with himself and can't wait to see where life takes him! Our next shoot will be with us and the kids before he goes back so check back for that one.

This was taken from a boat ride we took in Austria. Just a little town along the way to a place called Melk.

Dachau

O.k. so I will get one in tonight. So we went to Dachau, it's the very first concentration camp and all the others were sub camps from this one. It was a camp designed for 6,000 prisoners and they had 32,000 in it when it was closed down! The amount of suffering done here is incredible! When you start the day here you watch a film on what happened here and I think you could hear a pin drop in the film room, there were about 100 people in there and you would never know it! I can't say that it's a fun place to visit but it was well worth the trip. This place is a part of history and I can't see being that close to it and not visiting it. I just can't begin to imagine what these people went through. Here are just a few shots from it, I didn't take a whole bunch because there is not alot of things left here but I think you get the idea.

So I just got home and I'm unpacking! I am very tired because of a 9 hour time difference and 2 airports with 12 hours of flying! I will put some pictures up by morning then a few days of posts. Keep checking back, sorry for the delay I did not have internet while in munich for the last 3 days.

O.k. so I am a little slow on the blog!! We have been really busy and I just kind of drag my feet. We did a boat ride up the river in prague and toured the Prague castle which both were amazing. We are now in Austria and just saw a Mozart orchestra performance. What a show, I've never seen anything like it. We are off to another boat trip up the river in Vienna to stop in a couple small towns along the way. I will do my best to put more up tomorrow. We are off to Germany the day after that so look for those also.

Day 1- Prague

So our first day is done here in Prague! It took us about 20 hours to get here and by that time carrying my pack around was OVER! so the images here are just a couple snap shots with the point and shoot. The old town square is so cool and we found a great little place to eat with really good food. It's time to go back to sleep it's 3:00 in the morning and I'm having trouble with the time change.

So I did a shoot for the Harlan family this weekend. They are a family that I grew up with, I pretty much spent my whole childhood around them! Rich was my best friend when I was a kid and I have so many great memories from back then. It was really cool seeing all of them because it's been around 15-20 years since I've seen them. Anyway, they have great families and it looks like life has treated them well. It was the 50th anniversary of Dick and Donna (WOW that's crazy!) and I was glad to be a part of it.

Here's C.J. he's 3 months old. So 3 month old babies don't do a lot but I think he did great! He got a little ticked when we had him in the sun and he decided it was time to eat! Something about babies around me, they just want to eat! It was fun and I like the way they turned out.

I just wanted to share a few images that I have been working on. I really find myself leaning more and more towards this style! I realize that it is a little different than the usual but I just feel like an image deserves some feeling. I have just been a little bored with cleaning up an image and sending it out, I feel like I should put a little bit of me into it. I know that these aren't for everyone but when I shoot an image I kind of have an idea of what it should look like. I believe that each image is unique and it should stand out and say something about it. Anyway these are really cool to me and I wanted to share my thoughts! If you like them (or not) please let me know, I would love to know what people think! So I did a shoot with Preston and Alicia this weekend and what a fun couple they were! Alicia found me through the knot website and I'm really glad they did, they were fun and didn't really need me there at all (well except to shoot the pictures). They are getting married in a couple years but decided to do the engagement shoot now for the fun of it, they are both in school and are going to wait until they are finished to get married. Preston is also in the national guard so that made me respect him even more!! Here they are and I think they turned out cool!
